ssh username and repl-vs-vm is still confusing

Found out why, and if it's documented I didn't see it

$ ssh arthur@compile-juliet.exe.xyz ...goes to host arthur... $ ssh compile-juliet@arthur.exe.xyz ...goes to host compile-juliet

and my default user is set to 'arthur' in ~/.ssh/config
